There are a few additional tips that can make creating a site that much easier. I know, it’s hard to believe that Google has tricks that can make an already easy tool, easier.

Not at the moment. You can put it in as a suggestion. Google is good about listening to our needs/wants.
Actually, yes you can. Simple to do. When editing hover over the navigation bar at the top. A gear will appear. Click on that and choose ‘Side Navigation’.
